So the great Kyoto, in autumn was the greatest time of year to be here because of the beautiful scenery of the trees going into bloom. I came to Kyoto because it was like a must see if you go to japan and thy said you can see the trees and flowers bloom if you came around this time. This is a city in the central part of the island of Honshu,Japan and its close to the other big cities in japan. Asking around about the history of Kyoto I found out that over the past few centuries that Kyoto had endured a lot of hardships and to still be as great as it is now and to still be standing proud shows that these people must stand proud and fight for what they wanted.
I visited the Nishiki Market in central Kyoto to see the various foods they sell and had there. It is known as "Kyoto's Kitchen", the nishiki market has a history of several centuries and many stores have been operated by the same families for generations. All different kinds of foods are sold here including pickles, sweets ,dried food, sushi(my favorite) and fresh seafood so over here is were all the business is probably happening because everyone kinda needs to get food. I didn't get to do much shopping because I was just visiting but I wished I could have brought some food back home with me. I also walked down the Philosophers Path which is about a 10 to 20 min walk but has different stores and small temples going along it and was a nice little walk to see the path and stores plus temples and shrines.
So before I left I wanted to visit and nice temple or shrine and I went to the Fushimi Inari Shrine. I automatically loved this place once I walked in and it was one of the most famous shrines and it was dedicated to Inari across Japan. Having asked Inari is the Shinto god of rice and foxes are said to be his messengers so their were a lot of fox statues here. The shrine is also famous for the countless torii gates offered by the worshipers at the shrine, it covers the hiking trails of Inarisan the wooden mountain behind the shrine. It took about 2 hrs to walk the whole thing and they sold a food called Kitsune Udon which is noodle soup topped with dried tofu it was sold along the way and is also the favorite foods of foxes. Kyoto was fill of great places, scenery and temples and or shrines and was a life time experience learning about different religions and regions of japan.
